This 16" x 20" mixed media painting, features metallic tones (gold, rose gold and silver) mixed in with textured paste and applied with thick gestural strokes onto the canvas.
I think in our culture mainstream media, we can glamourize violence, substance abuse and the struggles we face as people. We hide behind materialistic things and dress up our pain which at the end of the day we all deal with things differently but it doesn't take away the pain underneath the surface, we all have many layers.
